It’s not simple, it’s not easy and life isn’t fair…

If all you do is feel sorry for yourself and always see yourself as a victim then you will get nowhere. You will still be where your parents are struggling to get by because you don’t believe you can lift yourself out of your current circumstance…

Now here is the thing, you didn’t have the choice to be born poor but you can do something about it. So let's look at some people who started from nothing but now have worked their way up…

His dad escaped from jail in a communist country and fled with his family to Halifax when he was just 8 years old. They literally came over with just one suitcase and now he is a millionaire.

Now what is the reason to show you those examples?

Well it’s to show you that although you can’t control what life throws at you, you can control how you react and respond to life. So will you sit back and play the victim or will you stand your ground and keep moving forward no matter the hardship?

If you want to keep being the victim then you should stop reading now…

But if you want to move forward and really commit to changing your situation then keep on reading because I’m going to share with you the 5 things you need to do to get out of being poor…

1. Stop Spending Money On Shit You Don’t Need

How to Stop Yourself from Spending Money Without Thinking

Yes, while some may find this obvious it actually isn’t so obvious…
For example, if you go to Starbucks every day and you order a Frappuccino that is 5 dollars every day. That may not seem like a big deal but let’s do the math on this…

$5×7 days=$35 a week
$35×4 weeks =$140 a month
$140×12 months= $1680 a year

You are wasting 1680 dollars every single year just for getting fancy coffee!! So by spending money on shit you don’t need like Starbucks you will be saving yourself a lot of money you could otherwise be using for other more important things…

So whether it is coffee, beer, getting bubble tea, smoking…look to where you are wasting money for little or no positive gain and cut your spending in those areas!

2. Build A Positive Routine

So many people don’t have a routine but this is one of the most fundamental things you need to do if you want to develop successful habits. We are what we do every day. So if all you do is come home from work, watch TV, eat a crap dinner, play some video games then go to sleep then you aren’t building a positive routine. Sure it’s a routine but let’s face it… it’s not a good one! It’s one that is slowly poisoning your mind and body!

Instead what you should be focusing on is focus on meaningful goals that you want to accomplish. Your routine could look like something like this… 1. Working out when you come home 2. Go and eat a healthy dinner 3. Study something you are interested in 4. Finally, give yourself a break and relax and play video games for 15 minutes

Well that routine is a far better one where you know you will have actually accomplished something meaningful in your day while still giving yourself time to relax and unwind.

The moral is set mini goals that you want to accomplish day by day and stick to them. Remember, nothing meaningful is easy and nothing easy is necessarily meaningful…

3. Learn A New Skill

A Little-Known Hack to Learn a New Skill in a Fraction of the Time -

The fact of the matter is this…
You can save all the money you want for your job but you will only be able to save so much. For example if your salary per month is $2000 then the most you can save is that amount… You will never be able to save anything higher because you don’t earn anything higher than what you make.

Instead, in order to increase the amount you can save per month a better option would be to increase your salary which you can only do by learning a new skill that is in demand or upgrade your current set of skills in a field which is in high demand so you can earn more money and bring more value. Like learning a trade like welding or plumbing because those skills will always be in demand.

4. Hang Around Like Minded People

Thomas J. Stanley Quote: “If you want to catch a cold, hang out with sick people. If you want to lose, associate with losers. But if you want to b...” (7 wallpapers) -

It is said that we are the sum of the closest 5 people we hang around with. And this is true. So if you are hanging around with friends or maybe even family who are stuck in their ways and don’t want to improve themselves and are lazy then in turn you will be like that.

While they might not mean to negatively influence you, they will. The best thing for you to do is to make a new social circle where and fill that circle with those who are actively trying to improve themselves like you are. This is because you will have the same values and are striving for the same thing so they will be willing to support you.

Now you might be thinking well even though my old friends aren’t that driven they will still support me…

And you know what, maybe they will, but as humans we tend to get jealous if one member in the group tries to improve themselves and the rest don’t. This is because it then forces them to reflect on themselves and when we see our own reflection and don’t like it we tend to lash out and bring down those who are trying to improve themselves.

So the moral is don’t stick around those people who don’t want the best for you…

5. Be Willing To Try

Ra's Al Ghul Quote - Batman Begins "The training is nothing! The will is everything! The will to act." | Batman begins, Christopher nolan quotes, Batman quotes

This is probably one of the most important thing if you really want to lift yourself from poverty. You have to be willing to implement the above teachings. Here is the thing, so many people just read without implementing, without doing and those are the people who were the same people they were 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago. In order to change you have to be willing to try… You have to be willing to put yourself out there and take risks.

It’s like what Batman’s former mentor Raj Al Ghul said “The training is nothing. The Will is everything. The will to act.”

You have to be willing to act if you want change…

Summary

So these are the 5 things you need to do if you want to stop being poor and start improving your situation…So let me know in the comments section what you think of these 5 rules and which one you believe to be the most important.
